Circumstances:
Following a raid on Rennes, the crew made a stop at RAF Stoke Orchard before returning to RAF Abingdon. On final approach to RAF Abingdon, the airplane crashed near Wooton, north of the airfield. Three crew members were killed and a fourth was injured.

While taxiing at Kiel-Holtenau Airport, the airplane collided with a German Air Force (Luftwaffe) Heinkel He.111 (MSN 1273). The radio operator Fw Dörfeld was injured while both other crew members were unhurt. The airplane was damaged beyond repair while the He.111 returned to service.

While returning to base following a night mission to the west front, the crew encountered poor weather conditions with snow falls, strong winds and icing. In a visibility of 30-50 metres, the airplane got iced, went out of control and crashed near the village of Pola, bursting into flames. The pilot was killed and the navigator was injured.

Loss of control in icing conditions.

The airplane was on a transit flight when it was wrecked at 1234LT after landing in poor visibility at RAF Wyton. Shortly after touchdown, and while still travelling at speed, the pilot tried to make a sharp turn and the undercarriage gave way under the strain. All eight crew members evacuated safely and the airplane was damaged beyond repair.
