Savoia-Marchetti SM.79 Sparviero

While on a test flight, the aircraft crashed in unknown circumstances in Segni, about 40 km southeast of Guidonia airbase. Two crew members were injured while the pilot Antonio Biscardi was killed.

Enroute, the aircraft hit the slope of Mt dell'Aretino located near Cerbaiola, killing all four crew members.

Crashed in flames during takeoff for unknown reason. The aircraft that was carrying mail and few passengers and crew was destroyed by a post crash fire but there were no casualties.

The crew was performing a training sortie from Pisa Airport. While cruising off Viareggio, the three-engine aircraft was mistakenly shot down by the crew of the German cargo ship christened 'Nicoline Maersk'. The aircraft crashed into the sea and was lost, killing all five crew members. Some debris of the wreckage were found in 1984.

The airplane departed Berka AFB near Benghazi to attack ships in the area of Crete. While returning to base in the evening, the pilot got lost and the airplane continued to the south before it crashed in a desert area, some 500 km southeast of Berka. All six crew members were killed.

The airplane was completing a patrol mission with a second similar machine. As weather conditions deteriorated, the wingman returned to base about an hour into the flight. But the leader continued and probably crashed somewhere into the sea. All six crew members were killed.

The three engine airplane departed Seville-Tablada Airport on a local training exercise. For unknown reasons, it entered an uncontrolled descent and crashed in a field located in Los Palacios y Villafranca, about 23 km southeast of Tablada Airport. All 10 occupants were killed.

The three engine airplane crashed while taking off from Benina Airport in Benghazi. It was en route to Barce (Al Marj). All eight occupants were killed.

The airplane departed Rome to reach the CIAF headquarters (Italian Armistice Commission with France) in Torino with seven people on board. Weather conditions deteriorated when the airplane crashed in Cartosio, about 10 km southwest of Acqui Terme. All seven occupants were killed, among them General Pietro Pintor and General Aldo Pellegrini.

The airplane was shot down by the pilot of a British fighter and crashed into the sea off the Balearic Islands. All five crew members were killed.
