Circumstances:
The crew was completing a night training sortie on behalf of the 101st Squadron. En route, an engine caught fire. All six crew members decided to abandon the aircraft and bailed out. Out of control, the aircraft dove into the ground and crashed in a field located near Driffield. While all six crew members were uninjured, the aircraft was destroyed.
Probable cause:
Engine fire in flight.

The approach to RAF Driffield was performing at dusk when the twin engine aircraft crashed in unknown circumstances in a field located at Highfield Farm, about 2 miles southeast of the airbase. All seven occupants were rescued while the aircraft was damaged beyond repair. It was reported that the crew started the descent without customs clearance.

Circumstances:
On final approach to RAF Drieffield, the crew encountered control problems and informed ground that he was attempting an emergency landing. Few seconds later, the aircraft nosed down and crashed in a huge explosion few hundred yards short of runway threshold. The aircraft was destroyed by impact forces and a post crash fire and both pilots were killed.
Probable cause:
Loss of control on final approach caused by the failure of several bolts on an elevator.

The crew was performing a maritime patrol flight off the East Yorkshire coast. While completing a turn at low height, the seaplane hit the water surface and crashed few hundred yards off Flamborough Head. All three crew members were killed.

The crew departed RAF Driffield on a gunnery training sortie. Immediately after takeoff, at a height of 12 feet, the starboard engine failed. The airplane lost height, crash landed and came to rest. All three crew members were injured.

Circumstances:
The airplane departed RAF Pocklington at 0037LT on an operation to Duisburg. At the end of the night, the crew was returning to base and initiated the approach. While circling the airfield for the second time in readiness for landing, an engine cut and the Halifax crashed into New Street, in Pocklington village. In those last few seconds, the bomber sheered a corner off a private house and then smashed into a school, bursting into flames. All eight crew members were killed. There were no injuries on the ground.

The pilot, sole on board, was performing a demo flight at the Blackburn Aircraft facilities based at Brough Airfield. While completing a low pass, the twin engine airplane clipped the roof of a hangar, stalled and crashed into the Humber River. The pilot was killed.
