Few minutes after takeoff from Bhuj Airfield, the right engine failed. The captain decided to attempt an emergency landing in a desert area located 19 km northwest of the airport. The aircraft belly landed and skidded for several yards before coming to rest. While all four crew members were unhurt, the aircraft was written off.
Probable cause:
Failure of the right engine.

The aircraft eventually belly landed in a field and came to rest two miles northeast of the airstrip. All four crew members were unhurt while the aircraft was written off.

About thirty minutes after its departure, the aircraft climbed to 8,000 feet then descended to 4,000 feet. Suddenly, it went into a dive and crashed in a swampy area near Akyab. All five crew members were killed.

Investigations revealed that the captain was not in the cockpit when the aircraft went out of control. It is believed he allowed another crew member to take his place and fly the aircraft. Went control was lost, he was unable to reach his place and regain control.
