Shortly after takeoff from Tatoi AFB, while in initial climb, the aircraft suffered an engine failure, stalled and crashed in an olive grove some 400 metres past the runway end. A crew member was killed while five other occupants were injured.
Probable cause:
Engine failure for unknown reasons.

The aircraft was completing a flight from Cairo, Egypt, to Rome, with an intermediate stop at Tatoi AFB in Greece. For unknown reason, the aircraft went out of control upon landing in Ciampino Airport and came to rest. All seven occupants were rescued, three of them were seriously injured including both pilots.

Following an operation over Albania, the crew was returning to his base at Tatoi. Flying over the Gulf of Corinth, the crew encountered poor weather conditions with limited visibility. The pilot ditched the airplane off the Alkyonides Islands. The pilot survived while both other occupants were killed.

Circumstances:
The airplane departed Tatoi AFB on an operation over Albania. During the combat, the airplane was hit by enemy fire, causing the left engine to fail. While returning to base, on final, the left propeller detached and went through the cockpit, killing the pilot. The airplane crashed near the boundary fence of the airbase and was destroyed. Both other crew members were injured.

The airplane departed Tatoi AFB at 1035LT on an operation to Këlcyrë. It was attacked by enemy fire and the crew evacuated the area. Later, the airplane ran out of fuel and the pilot was forced to make an emergency landing in Araxos. All three crew members escaped uninjured.

On the leg from Bucharest to Athens, the crew encountered poor weather since over Thessaloniki, Greece. On approach to Tatoi Airport, while flying at an altitude of some 1,000 metres in foggy conditions, the aircraft hit a tree with one of its wing and crashed near Malakasa, some 10 km north of the airport. The Captain Joseph Sittelle was killed while six other occupants were injured.
Probable cause:
The cause of the crash was attributed to a controlled flight into terrain (CFIT).
