For unknown reasons, the pilot Dick Johnson was forced to attempt an emergency landing somewhere near Big Prairie. Upon landing, the three engine airplane impacted trees, causing the left wing to be torn off. The occupants were injured and the airplane was damaged beyond repair.

The aircraft named 'Barranquilla' was carrying a crew of six that was taking part to a SAR mission after a Junkers F.13 from the same company was missing since the previous day. On final approach to Quibdó Airport, the seaplane went out of control and crashed 2 km short of runway. All six occupants were injured while the aircraft was lost.

The three engine airplane departed Managua on a schedule service to Puerto Cabezas, carrying six passengers and a crew of two. While approaching the destination, the airplane crashed in unknown circumstances in a wooded area located in the Natural Reserve of Kligna, some 40 km southwest of Puerto Cabezas. As the airplane failed to arrive at destination, SAR operations were initiated and the wreckage was found five days later, on October 3. All eight occupants were rescued.

The crew was performing a cargo flight from Hankow (now Wuhan) to Shanghai. En route, an engine caught fire and the crew decided to divert to Nankin Airport. On approach, the aircraft stalled and crashed in the district of Hsiakwan, west of Nankin, near the Yangtze River, bursting into flames. Both pilots were slightly injured and the aircraft was destroyed by a post crash fire.

The three engine aircraft departed Mexico City Airport at 1030LT on a charter flight to Guatemala City, carrying four crew members and 10 German tourists. While flying over the area of Amecameca de Juárez, the crew attempted to make a tour of the Popocatépetl volcano and the local National Park. While completing a turn at low speed, the aircraft stalled and crashed. All 14 occupants were killed.

Probable cause:
Prior to the accident, XA-BCB was seen flying at a low altitude, and there was speculation that the pilot, in an attempt to give to his passengers a scenic overview of the terrain, may have lost control during a turn because of an insufficient speed or because the aircraft was caught by downdraft.

En route, the crew lost his orientation while flying in a snowstorm and the airplane deviated to the southwest. Due to fuel exhaustion, the captain attempted an emergency landing when the airplane crashed on hilly terrain near Zigong, some 50 km east of Kunming. The pilot walked away for about 50 km in snow to find a postal office to send a telegram. Few hours later, SAR teams arrived on scene and could evacuate all five other occupants who were injured.
