En route, an engine failed, forcing the pilot to attempt an emergency landing. While approaching a field located in Breston Farm, near Dalmellington, the aircraft hit the ground so violently that the tail was sheared off. The aircraft came to rest and was damaged beyond repair while all eight occupants escaped slightly injured.
Probable cause:
Engine failure.

Shortly after take off from RAF Finningley (Doncaster Airport), while in initial climb, the twin engine aircraft stalled and crashed in flames in a wooded area. Three passengers were killed while both other occupants were seriously injured. The aircraft was destroyed by a post crash fire.

En route from RAF Hawarden to RAF Lichfield, weather conditions deteriorated with heavy snow falls. After the airplane has been struck by lighting, the pilot ordered all the occupants to bail out. The airplane was abandoned and crashed near Hordley, bursting into flames. Two passengers were killed and four others were injured.

After passing over Keswick, it descended low over the Derwentwater, hit the surface of the lake and crashed in the Calfclose Bay, about two km south of Keswick. All six crew members were killed.
