Circumstances:
The single engine airplane departed Ust-Kara on a schedule service to Naryan-Mar with an intermediate stop in Karatayka, carrying 10 passengers and two crews. Approaching Karatayka, the crew encountered icing conditions and decided to divert to Varandey. Engine power was at maximum but the airplane was unable to climb above 200 metres. In such conditions, the captain decided to attempt an emergency landing when the airplane crashed landed in a snow covered area located some 10 km northwest of Karatayka. A passenger and the captain were killed while 10 other occupants were injured. Shortly before the accident, the crew reported severe icing conditions.
Probable cause:
An emergency landing was necessary because of the inability to continue the flight due to the impact of icing on the aircraft's aerodynamic and thrust characteristics.
The following contributing factors were identified:
- The captain's failure to consider potential risks of the aircraft encountering icing conditions when making the decision to take off;
- The captain's delayed decision to change the flight plan despite receiving information about deteriorating meteorological conditions at the destination, which fell below the established thresholds for VFR (Visual Flight Rules) night flights and indicated the possibility of aircraft icing;
- Non-compliance with VFR rules regarding prolonged flight in actual icing conditions.

Circumstances:
The single engine aircraft (an Antonov An-2TP that was converted in 2014 with a TPE331 turbine engine) departed Naryan-Mar Airport on a schedule service (flight NYA9280) to Kharuta, Republic of Komi, carrying 11 passengers and two pilots. Shortly after takeoff, while climbing to a height of 30-40 metres, the aircraft entered an excessive nose-up attitude then rolled to the right, stalled and crashed in a snow covered field. A passengers was killed and 12 other occupants were injured. In the evening, two other passengers died and a fourth passed away on 10 January 2018.
Probable cause:
Loss of control during initial climb due to the combination of an excessive weight (the total weight of the aircraft was 42 kilos above MTOW) and a CofG that was too far aft, well above the permissible limit (32%). Poor flight preparation.

The single engine aircraft departed Shoyna Airport on a regular schedule service to Arkhangelsk-Vaskovo Airport, carrying eight passengers and two pilots. At liftoff, the aircraft banked right, causing the right lower wing to struck the ground. The right main gear was torn off upon impact. Out of control, the aircraft veered off runway and came to rest in a grassy area. All 10 occupants were rescued, among them three were slightly injured. The aircraft was damaged beyond repair. It is believed that the crew encountered strong cross winds upon takeoff.

Circumstances:
While cruising at an altitude of 130 metres, the engine failed. The crew elected to make an emergency landing in the tundra near Labozhkoe, 47 km west from Naryan-Mar, when the aircraft impacted trees and crashed in a wooded area. A passenger was injured while all other occupants escaped unhurt. The aircraft was written off.

Engine failure for unknown reasons.

Circumstances:
The aircraft was completing a charter flight from Ufa to Naryan Mar with intermediate stops in Perm, Usinsk and Varandey under contract of Naryanmarneftyegaz, a sister company of Lukoil. On final approach under VFR mode in good weather conditions, at a speed of 170 km/h, the aircraft stalled, causing the left wing to struck a sand dune (3 metres high). The aircraft crashed 4,217 metres short of runway, bursting into flames. The captain, the navigator and 26 passengers were killed while 24 other people were injured. The aircraft was totally destroyed by impact forces and a post crash fire. OAT was -24° C. at the time of the accident and the visibility was good.
Probable cause:
The accident was the consequence of an aerodynamic stall that occurred on short final at low height due to the combination of the following factors: the aircraft was in a critical angle of attack and its speed was insufficient because both engines run at low regime for a period of more than 20 seconds. Possible errors in the reading of certain instruments such as the speed indicator and the angle of attack indicator remain a contributing factor.

A Mil Mi-8 registered RA-24247 just landed at Naryan-Mar Airport after completing a local flight with eight passengers and three crew members on board. Its crew was instructed to vacate via taxiway 4. Following an uneventful flight, the crew of the Antonov AN-12 was cleared to land on the same runway two minutes later. After touchdown, the aircraft collided with the helicopter. Both aircrafts were destroyed and while all nine people on board the Antonov were injured, among the 11 people on board the helicopter, eight were killed and three were injured. At the time of the accident, the visibility was reduced to 500 metres.
Probable cause:
The airport of Naryan-Mar is controlled by both civil and military services. The helicopter has been cleared to land by civil ATC and less than two minutes later, the aircraft was cleared by military ATC to land on the same runway. A lack of coordination between both ATC services was identified as the separation between both landings was insufficient. Nevertheless, it was also reported that the crew of the Antonov failed to follow ATC message after the controller in the tower instructed the crew to initiate a go-around procedure. The crew misinterpreted this order thinking ATC was referring to the lack of visibility and not to the presence of another aircraft on the runway.

The four engine aircraft departed Ostafyevo AFB on a flight to Tiksi with intermediate stops in Ryazan and Vorkuta, carrying 15 passengers, seven crew members and a load of 6 tons of plumbing and communication equipments. En route from Ryazan to Vorkuta, the crew was diverted to Amderma due to poor weather conditions. But on approach to Amderma, the crew also encountered poor weather conditions and initiated the descent prematurely. On final, the aircraft struck an ammunition depot and crashed in a snow covered field located 1,500 metres short of runway, bursting into flames. Two passengers were seriously injured while 20 other occupants were killed.
Probable cause:
The aircraft was approaching Amderma Airport at an insufficient altitude after the crew initiated the descent prematurely. It was reported that the ILS system was unserviceable at the time of the accident.

The approach to Amderma Airport was initiated by night when the airplane descended below the glide. At a speed of 206 km/h, the airplane struck the ground 1,850 meters short of runway threshold and crashed in flames on a small hill located 140 meters to the left of the extended centerline. Two passengers and a crew member were seriously injured while all 40 other occupants were killed.
Probable cause:
The accident was the consequence of a series of violations on part of the flying crew who failed to follow the published procedures regarding the approach completed by night, which resulted in a premature descent, causing the aircraft to continue the approach below the glide until impact with the ground. The following contributing factors were reported:
- The real altitude of the aircraft was less than the one reported by the navigator,
- The pilot-in-command decided to continue the approach once the aircraft passed below the glide,
- The pilot-in-command failed to initiate a go-around maneuver,
- Poor crew coordination,
- The navigator in charge of the approach was under training and his instructor failed to assist during the approach maneuver,
- The total weight of the aircraft was 816 kilos above the MTOW at takeoff from Arkhangelsk.
