Circumstances:
The twin engine airplane was completing a flight from Palermo to Milan with an intermediate stop in Rome for refueling. Four minutes after his departure from Rome-Urbe Airport, while climbing to an altitude of 1,500 meters, the crew informed ATC about technical problems. Control was lost and the airplane crashed in a huge explosion near several houses located in La Storta, about 12 km north of Rome-Urbe Airport. The aircraft was totally destroyed and all seven occupants were killed.

The aircraft was involved in an aerial photography mission between Rome and Palermo, carrying two photographers and a pilot. While flying along the shore, one of the engine failed. The pilot decided to ditch the aircraft off Marina di Fuscaldo. While all three occupants were quickly rescued by the crew of a boat, the aircraft sank and was lost.

Engine failure.

The crew was performing a delivery flight from Brussels to Tel Aviv via Rome-Urbe Airport. Shortly after takeoff, while in initial climb, the aircraft suffered an explosion and crashed near the runway end. Both pilots were killed and the aircraft was destroyed. The crew consisted of Leonard Cohen and George Frederick Beurling, a Canadian pilot, hero from WWII.
Probable cause:
The exact cause of the accident could not be determined with certainty. However, the authorities did not exclude the hypothesis that a bomb was placed on board the aircraft.

En route from Rome to Palermo, one of the engine failed. The crew apparently attempted an emergency landing when the airplane crashed onto several houses located in the center of the village of Roccagorga, bursting into flames. All four crew members were killed. Some locals attempted to rescue the crew when houses collapsed. Six rescuers and six residents were killed as well.

The four engine airplane departed Rome-Urbe Airport on a schedule service to Paris with an intermediate stop in Lyon, carrying 15 passengers and a crew of three. While cruising along the Rhône River, the crew encountered stormy weather when the aircraft was struck by lightning. The captain reduced his altitude and attempted an emergency landing when the aircraft crash landed in a pasture located in Le Creux de la Thine, near the Saint-Rambert-d'Albon Aerodrome. All 18 occupants evacuated safely and the aircraft was damaged beyond repair.

Emergency landing after being struck by lightning.
