Lindholme AFB

The airplane departed RAF Lindholme at 1840LT on October 2 on an operation to Hamburg. While returning at night, it crashed in a dummy flare-path at Woodhall Innerwick, some four miles southeast of Dunbar. All four crew members were rescues, one was injured.

The airplane departed RAF Lindholme at 1859LT on September 29 to attack the Bosch Factory in Stuttgart. Approaching the target, it was shot down by the German Flak and crashed, killing all four crew members.

The airplane departed RAF Lindholme at 1923LT on an operation to Calais. At the end of the evening, while returning to his base, the crew encountered foggy conditions. On final in limited visibility, the airplane collided with trees and crashed shot of runway. All four crew members were injured and the aircraft was damaged beyond repair.

The airplane departed RAF Lindholme at 1956LT on an operation to Ostend. Approaching the target, it was shot down by enemy fire and crashed into the sea off Ostend. All four crew members were killed.

The airplane departed RAF Lindholme at 2117LT to bomb the Blohm & Voss Shipyards in Hamburg. Approaching the target, it was shot down by the German Flak. All four crew members bailed out at 2359LT and became PoW. The aircraft crashed and was destroyed.

The airplane departed RAF Lindholme on a bombing mission over Leipzig. While returning to its base, after being hit by the German Flak, it crashed on approach to RAF Hemswell. All four crew members were rescued.

The airplane departed RAF Lindholme at 2201LT on August 25 on a bombing mission over Berlin. The following morning, while returning to his base, the crew was forced to ditch the airplane off Scarborough due to fuel exhaustion. All four crew members were rescued.

The airplane departed RAF Lindholme on a bombing mission over Berlin. At 0412LT, the crew was heard on w/t asking for a bearing. It is believed that the airplane crash landed at 0634LT near Lautersheim. All four crew members became PoW.

The airplane departed RAF Lindholme at 2147LT for a night practice flight, but w/t signals received indicated that the aircraft was proceeding towards Vlieland Island. It crashed in unknown circumstances into the sea. No trace was ever found.

The airplane departed RAF Lindholme at 2113LT on July 31 on a raid over enemy positions. All contact lost at 0410LT and it is believed that the aircraft crashed into the sea some 50 km east of Flamborough. All four crew members were killed.
