Circumstances:
Shortly after takeoff from Rio de Janeiro-Santos Dumont Airport, while climbing, the crew informed ground that he encountered technical problems with an engine while flying over Pendotiba. Shortly later, the twin engine aircraft went out of control and crashed on the slope of a mountain located in Itaipu, east of Rio de Janeiro. The aircraft was destroyed by impact forces and all eight occupants were killed, among them Álvaro de Araújo, pilot (captain), founder and owner of this company.
Probable cause:
Engine failure.

The crew was completing a training exercise from Rio de Janeiro-Santos Dumont Airport. In flight, the engine suffered technical problems and several parts went through the cabin. The pilot lost control of the aircraft that crashed near the airport, between Brazilian and US military facilities. The radio operator was seriously injured while three other occupants were killed.

Less than one minute after take off from Rio de Janeiro-Santos Dumont Airport, while in initial climb, the three-engine aircraft hit the roof of the Naval Academy. On impact, the aircraft broke in two, one part left in the building and the second one came to rest in the Guanabara Bay. Three passengers were injured while all 18 other occupants were killed. At the time of the accident, the visibility was poor due to foggy conditions over Rio.

Shortly after liftoff at Rio de Janeiro-Santos Dumont Airport, the airplane named 'Francisco Mendez Gonçalves' encountered difficulties to gain speed and height. It stalled and crashed into the Bay of Guanabara and sank. All 13 occupants were rescued, among them six were seriously injured.
Probable cause:
It is believed that the accident was the consequence of a partial collapse of undercarriage during the takeoff roll, causing a friction of the propellers with the runway surface. In such conditions, the airplane was unable to gain sufficient speed then height after liftoff.

Probable cause:
Wrong approach configuration on part of the crew and poor judgement on part of the pilot-in-command upon landing. The glassy water surface was considered as a contributory factor.
