Circumstances:
While returning to base at RAF Topcliffe following an operation to Berlin, the crew was forced to ditch the aircraft off the English coast due to fuel exhaustion. The aircraft crashed into the sea off Whitby. While all five crew members were rescued, the aircraft sank and was lost. Crew from the 102nd Squadron.
Probable cause:
Fuel exhaustion.

Circumstances:
The crew departed RAF Drem on a transfer flight to RAF Catterick. While descending to the destination airfield, the crew encountered very bad weather conditions and made an emergency landing near RAF Catterick. All occupants escaped with minor injuries and the aircraft was damaged beyond repair.

Circumstances:
The airplane departed RAF Topcliffe at 1632LT on December 3 on an operation to Mannheim. The following morning, while on final approach to RAF Topcliffe, the aircraft ran out of fuel, crash landed, veered off runway and came to rest, bursting into flames. All five crew members were injured and the aircraft was destroyed by a post crash fire. Several bomb exploded as well.

Circumstances:
The airplane departed RAF Linton-on-Ouse at 1605LT on December 2 on an operation to Lorient, Brittany. While returning to base, the crew lost his orientation and decided to divert to RAF Cold Kirby, a dummy airfield that was not suitable for such an aircraft. After touchdown on a grassy runway, the aircraft went out of control and came to rest. All five crew members escaped uninjured and the aircraft was damaged beyond repair.

Circumstances:
The airplane departed RAF Dishforth on an operation to Lorient. Shortly after takeoff, while in initial climb, the aircraft stalled and crashed, bursting into flames. All five crew members were injured and five ground crew (rescuers) were killed when bombs stored in the cargo bay exploded.
