Snaith AFB

The airplane departed RAF Snaith at 1815LT on an operation to Mannheim. It was shot down by enemy fire and crashed in Rambach, in the suburb of Wiesbaden. All six crew members were killed.

The airplane departed RAF Snaith at 1905LT on September 20 on an operation to Frankfurt. While returning to base the following night and approaching the British coast, it collided with a barrage balloon cable and crash landed on a sand bank in Spurn Head. All six crew members escaped uninjured.

The airplane departed RAF Snaith at 2000LT on September 2 on an operation to Frankfurt. While returning to base the following night, it crashed in unknown circumstances near RAF Kenley. All six crew members escaped with minor injuries.

The airplane departed RAF Snaith at 2045LT on an operation to Mannheim. While returning to base the following night, the crew tried to land at RAF Martlesham Heath but was unable to do so due to poor weather conditions over the area. Three crew members bailed out and the pilot made an emergency landing in Levington, on the River Orwell. All five crew members were uninjured.

The airplane was engaged in a local training exercise at RAF Snaith. Following a flapless approach, it overshot the runway and crash landed. There were no injuries among the crew.

The airplane departed RAF Snaith at 2145LT on August 14 on an operation to Hanover. Passing over the Netherlands, it was shot down by the German Flak. The starboard engine caught fire and the airplane was ditched in the IJsselmeer off Workum. The pilot was killed and five others became PoW.

The airplane departed RAF Snaith at 2235LT on August 6 on an operation to Frankfurt. It was shot down by the German Flak and crashed near the village of Schermbeck, killing the entire crew.

The airplane departed RAF Snaith in the evening of July 30 on an operation to Cologne. En route, the crew encountered very bad weather conditions and decided to return to base. While flying at low height, the bomber impacted the slope of a hill near Edale. Five crew members were killed and a sixth occupant was seriously injured.
