Balderton

While being tested in readiness for the Saarbrücken operation, the airplane went out of control and crashed in a field located 3 km southeast of RAF Balderton. All four crew members were killed.

The airplane departed RAF Balderton at 2341LT on July 21 on an operation to Duisburg. In unknown circumstances, it crashed into the sea east of Den Helder. All four crew members were killed.

The airplane departed RAF Balderton at 0840LT on an operation to the Moling Area 3A. Approaching the Dutch coast, it was intercepted by a German fighter. Both airplane collided and crashed into the sea some 50 km northwest of Vlieland Island. All four crew members as well as both pilots of the German fighter were killed.

The airplane departed RAF Balderton at 2240LT on June 18 on a mine laying operation off Lorient. The following night, it crashed for unknown reasons in Servel, nearby Lannion Airport. All four crew members were killed.

The crew was engaged in a night flying test in readiness for operations to Emden. Shortly after a night takeoff from RAF Balderton, it entered a left turn when it crashed in a field located northeast of the airfield. All three crew members were injured.

The airplane departed RAF Balderton at 2326LT on June 2 on an operation to Essen. Over the Netherlands, it was shot down by a German fighter and crashed into the IJsselmeer off Medemblik. All four crew members were killed.

The airplane departed RAF Balderton at 2258LT on June 1st on an operation to Essen. Over the Netherlands, it was shot down by a German fighter and crashed into the IJsselmeer off Elburg. All four crew members were killed.

The airplane departed RAF Balderton at 2219LT to lay mines in the Pumpkin area. While returning to base the following night, it was shot down by the German Flak and crashed into the sea off Samsø Island. All four crew members were killed.

The airplane departed RAF Balderton at 2235LT to lay mines in the Pumpkin area. While cruising at an altitude of 1,200 feet, it was shot down by the German Marine Flak and crashed into the sea off Samsø Island. Three crew members were killed and the pilot became PoW.
