Circumstances:
The airplane departed left RAF Topcliffe at 1704LT on December 15 on an operation to Berlin. While returning to base, the crew was forced to ditch the aircraft due to fuel exhaustion. The bomber crashed into the sea at 0350LT some 32 km off Scarborough. No trace of the aircraft nor the crew was ever found.

The aircraft crashed into the sea off Whitby. While all five crew members were rescued, the aircraft sank and was lost. Crew from the 102nd Squadron.

It was heard on w/t at 1933LT indicating the airplane had developed a severe engine problem and the operation was being terminated. At 2200LT, the bomber crashed in the North Sea some 30 miles east of Great Yarmouth. No trace of the airplane nor the crew was ever found.

The following morning, while on final approach to RAF Topcliffe, the aircraft ran out of fuel, crash landed, veered off runway and came to rest, bursting into flames. All five crew members were injured and the aircraft was destroyed by a post crash fire. Several bomb exploded as well.

The airplane departed RAF Linton-on-Ouse at 1605LT on December 2 on an operation to Lorient, Brittany. While returning to base, the crew lost his orientation and decided to divert to RAF Cold Kirby, a dummy airfield that was not suitable for such an aircraft. After touchdown on a grassy runway, the aircraft went out of control and came to rest. All five crew members escaped uninjured and the aircraft was damaged beyond repair.
