The crew was completing a local training exercise at RAF Brize Norton. On approach, one of the engine failed and the airplane stalled and crash landed near the airfield. Both occupants were uninjured and the airplane was damaged beyond repair.
Probable cause:
Engine failure on approach.

Circumstances:
Shortly after takeoff from Wigram AFB, the aircraft banked left and crashed in a huge explosion. The pilot, who was performing a solo training flight, was killed.

Circumstances:
At 1140LT, it crashed following a mid-air collision with a Vickers 416 Wellington IC registered R1017 and carrying six crew members. The collision occurred over Elton, 12 miles east of Nottingham. The Oxford struck the Wellington in the area of the astro dome and carried away the tail unit. Both aircraft crashed from a height of 900 feet and fell about 700 yards apart. All eight crew members in both airplanes were killed.

The pilot was completing a local solo training flight at RAF South Cerney on behalf of the 3rd Army Training Unit. After touchdown, one of the undercarriage collapsed. The airplane veered off runway, came to rest and was damaged beyond repair. The pilot escaped uninjured.

An undercarriage collapsed upon landing.

The pilot departed RNZAF Woodbourne (near Blenheim) at 0907LT with a scheduled return at 1115LT. The aircraft failed to return and SAR were initiated. Unfortunately, no trace of the aircraft nor the pilot found and all operations were abandoned after a week. A hunter found the wreckage on April 5, 1980 in an isolated area located in the Tararua Mountain Range, between Masterton, Paraparaumu and Waikanae.

The pilot was performing a training flight with another Airspeed Oxford registered NZ1246. En route, both aircraft collided for unknown reasons. As the pilot of NZ1246 was able to make an emergency landing at RNZAF Woodbourne, NZ1276 crashed into the sea off Blenheim, killing the pilot.
