Circumstances:
The pilot was completing a solo training flight out from Weston-on-the-Green. An engine failed in flight, forcing the pilot to attempt an emergency landing when the airplane crashed in as pasture located in Yarnton. The pilot LAC Philip Pendlebury was killed.
Probable cause:
Engine failure in flight.

The crew was engaged in a local training flight at Habbaniya AFB. After takeoff, the twin engine airplane went out of control and crashed. A crew was seriously injured and two others were killed. The next day, the only survivor died from injuries sustained.

The pilot was performing a solo training mission at Wigram AFB and was supposed to complete several touch & go manoeuvres. Following a circuit in the vicinity of the airfield, he landed briefly and then increased the engine power for a new takeoff procedure. While in initial climb, the twin engine aircraft stalled and crashed 3 km from the airbase, bursting into flames. The pilot was killed.
