Circumstances:
The airplane departed RAF Honington at 2215LT on March 1st on an operation to Cologne. While returning to base the following night, approaching the coast of East Yorkshire, it crashed in unknown circumstances into the sea off Spurn Head. All six crew members were killed.

The airplane departed RAF Topcliffe at 1641LT on an operation to Bremen. Less than two hours into the flight, it was shot down by the pilot of a JU.88 and crashed into the sea some 50 km east of Withernsea. All five crew members were killed.

The airplane departed RAF Linton-on-Ouse at 1805LT on October 14 to bomb an synthetic oil plant located in Stettin (Szczecin), Poland. While returning to his base in the next early morning. the crew noticed the fuel quantity was insufficient and decided to divert to RAF Driffield. On approach, the captain was forced to make an emergency landing few miles short of runway. All crew members evacuated safely and the aircraft was damaged beyond repair.
