The airplane departed RAF East Wretham at 2129LT on November 15 on an operation to Kiel. While returning to base the following night, it passed over the north of England and crashed in the Irish Sea some 20 miles southwest of Saint Bees. Two crew members were rescued and four others were killed.

The twin engine airplane departed RAF Silloth on a local training exercise. While flying at night, it suffered an engine failure, entered an uncontrolled descent and crashed into the Solway Firth off the airbase. All four crew members were killed.

The crew was engaged in a cross country navigation exercise and departed RAF Millom in the morning. While flying in clouds, the crew failed to realize his altitude was insufficient when the airplane impacted the slope of Mt Caw Fell located 8 km southeast of Ennerdale Bridge. Both crew members were killed.
