The single engine aircraft was engaged in a local sightseeing flight the Oslo area, carrying four passengers and one pilot. En route, the aircraft suffered an explosion and crashed into the harbor of Oslo. All five occupants were killed, among them Arild Wideroe (aged 29), cofounder of the company.

He departed Oslo with two other DH.60M Moth of the Norwegian Air Force (Kongelige Norske Luftforsvaret). En route, he encountered low visibility due to foggy conditions and decided to attempt an emergency landing wen he lost control of the aircraft that crashed near the Lake Eikeren. The pilot was killed.

Circumstances:
The three engine float plane named 'Havørn' departed Bergen harbor at 0630LT on a flight to Tromsø. At 0654LT, the crew reported his position at an altitude estimated between 3,000 and 5,000 feet. Six minutes later, while cruising in clouds, the airplane impacted the south face of Mt Lyhesten located 4 km west of Hyllestad. The aircraft was totally destroyed and all seven occupants were killed.
