Libya

The airplane departed RAF Luqa on an anti-shipping operation off the Libyan coast. Approaching the target area, it was shot down by enemy fire and crashed into the sea off Tripoli. All three crew members were killed.

Approaching the Libyan coast, it was shot down by an Italian fighter and crashed into the Mediterranean Sea some 96 km north of Tripoli. All three crew members found refuge in a dinghy and drifted till Djerba where they arrive six days later and became PoW.

The airplane departed RAF Luqa to attack a truck convoy on the Misrata / Benghazi road. Approaching the target, it was shot down by ground fire and crashed. All three crew members were killed.

The airplane departed RAF Luqa with five other Bleinheim to attack German barracks located on the Libyan coast. While making a sharp turn at a height of 600 feet, the airplane flying too close beneath Blenheim Z9609 was touched by its propellers and crashed. All three crew members were killed. The second airplane involved returned safely to base.

The floatplane was mistakenly shot down by the Italian Flak while approaching Tripoli and crashed into the sea. Three crew members were killed and three others were injured.

The floatplane and its crew was dropping depth charges when it was shot down by enemy fire coming from the Italian submarine named 'Delfino'. It went out of control and crashed into the sea some 22 km off the Libyan coast. Four crew members were rescued and eight others were killed.

The airplane departed Shallufa Airfield on an operation to Benghazi. It failed to return to base and probably crashed in a desert area located at the border between Libya and Egypt. No trace was found.

The airplane departed Fuka Airfield at 0640LT on a reconnaissance mission consisting of photos of Derna, Martuba, El Timimi, El Gazala and the area between Tobruk and Bardia. While cruising at an altitude of 3,000 metres, it was shot down by the pilot of a German fighter and crashed in a desert area located some 10 km east-southeast of Acroma. The wreckage and the four crew members were never recovered.
