Mildenhall AFB

The airplane departed RAF Mildenhall at 2005LT on September 27 on an operation to Hanau. It is believed that it was probably shot down by the German Flak over the target area. A crew member was killed and five others became PoW.

The aircraft departed RAF Mildenhall at 0014LT on an operation to Boulogne-sur-Mer. In unknow circumstances, the bomber crashed into the sea off Clacton-on-Sea, Essex. A crew member was able to swim ashore while all five other occupants have drowned.

The airplane departed RAF Mildenhall at 2200LT on September 5 for a Razzle operation in the Black Forest region of Germany. It crashed in unknown circumstances somewhere in Germany and all six crew members became PoW.

The aircraft departed RAF Mildenhall at 2050LT on September 1st on a bombing mission over Hanover. On the return trip, while completing a last turn on approach to RAF East Wretham, the aircraft hit tree tops and crashed, bursting into flames. A fire broke out, followed by an explosion that totally wrecked the aircraft. All six crew members were injured.
