Junkers JU.88

While on an operation to England, the airplane collided with a second Luftwaffe JU.88 registered M2+CL. Both airplanes crashed in Speeton, North Yorkshire. All four crew members were rescued and became PoW while the crew of the second airplane were killed. The collision occurred in poor visibility due to foggy conditions.

The airplane was lost without trace, maybe it crashed somewhere in the North Sea. All four crew members were missed in action.

The airplane departed Amsterdam-Schiphol Airport on an operation to England. It was shot down by enemy fire and crashed somewhere in The Channel.

The airplane suffered an engine failure and ditched in the Baltic Sea. All four crew members took place in a dinghy and reached the Swedish coast four days later. The airplane sank and was lost.

The airplane departed Köningsberg (Kaliningrad) on an anti-shipping operation. A propeller detached in flight and the crew ditched the airplane off the island of Hiiumaa. The aircraft sank and was lost while all four crew members reached the Swedish coast four days later with their dinghy.

A bomb of 1,000 kg was dropped on the Stalin Canal near Povenets and exploded. As the airplane was flying too close to the detonation, it was hit by debris and crashed. All four crew members were killed.
