The pilot departed RAF Cottesmore on a solo training flight. Shortly after takeoff, while in initial climb, one of the engine failed. The pilot made an emergency landing in an open field located about three km from the airport. The pilot was uninjured and the aircraft was damaged beyond repair.

The airplane departed RAF Hemswell at 0312LT on an operation to Bremen. It turned back while 70 miles short of the target with an over heating port engine. On final approach in the early morning, it crashed 500 yards from the Officers' Mess at RAF Hemswell when both engines cut through lack of fuel. Two crew were injured and two others were unhurt.

The airplane departed RAF Lindholme at 1659LT on January 1st to attack oil refinery and food plants in Bremen. While returning to base the following night, the crew encountered poor weather conditions with snow and clouds and fog at 600 feet. After touchdown, the airplane was unable to stop within the remaining distance. The crew raised the landing gear, the aircraft overran and came to rest in a snow covered area. All four crew members were rescued.
