The airplane departed RAF Swanton Morley at 1845LT on November 27 on an operation to Cologne. While returning to base, the crew encountered marginal weather conditions and was unable to descend safely through clouds. So the crew abandoned the aircraft that crashed east of Hyde and was destroyed. All three crew members were uninjured.

A group of seven Handley Page H.P.50 Heyford departed Belfast-Aldergrove Airport at 1045LT on a formation flight to RAF Finningley. Upon departure, weather conditions were excellent. After crossing the Irish Sea and flying over Barrow-in-Furness, the crew encountered clouds and severe icing conditions. Unable to maintain the altitude, the crew decided to bail out and abandoned the aircraft that entered a dive and crashed in a pasture in Shaw, some 15 km northeast of Manchester. The aircraft was destroyed and all four crew members were uninjured.

The pilot was performing a cargo flight from Manchester to Douglas, Isle of Man, with a load of newspapers on board. After takeoff from Manchester-Barton Airport, he was forced to attempt an emergency landing for unknown reason. The aircraft came to rest in a field in Crawthorne, near Bolton. While the single engine aircraft was damaged beyond repair, the pilot was unhurt.
