Haut-Lomami

The single engine airplane crashed in unknown circumstances in Mbukula while performing a flight from Lubumbashi to Kananga. The crew was supposed to make a stop in Mbukula to deliver fuel cans and chairs to the village chief's home when the accident occurred.

The airplane departed Bukavu-Kavumu Airport at 1150LT on a cargo flight to Kasese with three crew members on board. As the airplane failed to arrive at destination, SAR operations were initiated and the wreckage was found two days later in a wooded and hilly terrain near Kasese. All three occupants were killed.

The aircraft departed Elisabethville on a flight to Luluabourg with an intermediate stop in Bukama, carrying five passengers and two crew members. The crew initiated the takeoff procedure from a water logged runway. After a course of about 900 metres, the airplane overran and crashed against rocks. All five passengers and the flight mechanic escaped uninjured while the pilot Henri Van Reempst was killed after being wedged between his seat and the steering wheel.
