While taxiing at Douala Airport, an explosion occurred on the left hand side. The crew stopped the aircraft on the taxiway and started an emergency evacuation. 94 occupants were wounded while 20 others were uninjured. Unfortunately, two passengers died by asphyxia.
Probable cause:
It was reported by the Cameroon Authorities that a bomb placed in the left main wheel well exploded during taxi, causing a rupture of the main left fuel tank. A fire erupted, partially destroying the aircraft. It appears that the bomb was placed by members of the 'Liberation Front of Cameroon'.

Following a wrong approach configuration, the four engine airplane landed too far down on runway 25 and was unable to stop within the remaining distance. It overran and came to rest. While all nine occupants escaped uninjured, the aircraft was damaged beyond repair.
Probable cause:
It was determined that the crew completed a wrong approach configuration, making a steep turn too late on final. The following contributing factors were reported:
- The aircraft' speed at touchdown was excessive,
- As the aircraft was too high on approach, it landed too far down the runway, approximately a third past the runway threshold,
- The crew failed to initiate a go-around maneuver,
- Poor crew coordination.

On a charter flight from Mombasa to Nairobi, the pilot encountered foggy conditions. While cruising at an insufficient altitude, the twin engine aircraft struck the Malwa Hill located near Machakos. The aircraft was destroyed and all nine occupants were killed, among them eight European tourists; 4 Italians, two French and two Swiss.
Probable cause:
Controlled flight into terrain in foggy conditions.
