Circumstances:
The airplane departed Aalborg on a supply mission to Stavanger-Sola Airport, carrying a load of oil barrels and four crew members. En route, weather conditions deteriorated when the three engine aircraft impacted the slope of a mountain located near Birkeland. The aircraft was destroyed upon impact and all four crew members were killed.

Circumstances:
The aircraft departed RAF Mildenhall at 1153LT on an operation to find enemy shipping along the Norwegian coast. While cruising off Stavanger, the aircraft was shot down by the pilot of a German Messerschmitt Me.110 and crashed into the sea, some 30 km southwest of Stavanger. No trace of the aircraft nor the crew was found.

En route, he encountered low visibility due to foggy conditions and decided to attempt an emergency landing wen he lost control of the aircraft that crashed near the Lake Eikeren. The pilot was killed.
