Circumstances:
The airplane departed RAF Coningsby at 2010LT on March 3 on an operation to Cologne. While returning to base the following night, it was shot down by the German Flask and crashed in Antwerp. All four crew members were killed.

The pilot was completing a solo training flight at RAF Coningsby. Shortly after takeoff, the airplane suffered a loss of engine power and crash landed in a nearby field. The pilot F/O C. P. D. Pruce was uninjured.

Loss of engine power upon takeoff.

Circumstances:
The pilot departed RAF Waddington on a solo training flight. En route, he encountered an unexpected situation and decided to abandon the airplane. After he bailed out, he struck the tail and was killed. Out of control, the airplane dove into the ground and crashed in Tattershall Thorpe, about 2 km north of RAF Coningsby.
