The float plane overshot upon landing at RAF Catterick when the grass runway was wet and shorter than was required for this aircraft category. The airplane overran, collided with the boundary hedge and came to rest near the A1 road. There were no casualties.

Circumstances:
The float plane was completing a night exercice from Heliopolis to Mersa Matruh with 13 crew members on board. On approach, at a height of about 800 feet, the airplane lost altitude, collided with a fence and came to rest, bursting into flames. Seven occupants were killed and six others were injured.

Circumstances:
The seaplane departed Cowes, Isle of Wight, on a delivery flight to the Isle of Grain, carrying three crew members. En route, the aircraft crashed in the sea off St Leonards-on-Sea, near Hastings. All three crew members were rescued while the aircraft was damaged beyond repair.
