The pilot was taxiing at RAF Wyton when it collided with a second RAF Blenheim registered N6144 that just landed. Both aircraft exploded and were destroyed. Both pilots in both aircraft were injured.

The pilot was completing a local solo training flight. After landing at RAF Wyton, the airplane collided with a second RAF Blenheim registered K7051 that was taxiing for takeoff. Both aircraft exploded and were destroyed. Both pilots in both aircraft were injured.

Circumstances:
The crew was completing a local training sortie at RAF Wyton. While flying in the vicinity of the airbase, an engine failed. The crew decided to return for an emergency landing but was unable to lower the landing gear. The airplane belly landed and slid for few dozen metres before coming to rest. All three crewmen evacuated safely and the aircraft was damaged beyond repair.
Probable cause:
Engine failure and belly landing after the undercarriage got jammed.

The pilot departed RAF Wyton on a local solo training flight. After takeoff, the right engine failed and the pilot elected to return when he lost control of the airplane that crashed short of runway. The pilot Sgt John H. Williams was killed.

After landing on a grassy runway, the airplane was unable to stop within the remaining distance, overran and came to rest upside down. The pilot escaped uninjured and the aircraft was destroyed.
