Circumstances:
The crew was performing a local test and control flight in preparation of the first flight between Moscow and New York. In flight, a technical failure forced the crew to attempt an emergency landing in the taiga. While both occupants were unhurt, the aircraft was damaged beyond repair.

Unknown technical failure.

Circumstances:
Shortly after takeoff from Königsberg (Kaliningrad) Airport, the pilot encountered engine problems and elected to make an emergency landing. The aircraft crash landed in a field and came to rest, bursting into flames. All occupants evacuated safely and the aircraft was destroyed by a post crash fire.
