Vlieland Island

While returning to England, following a bombing mission, the aircraft went out of control and crashed into the North Sea, some 1 km off Vlieland Island. All seven crew members were killed.

In unknown circumstances, the aircraft crashed into the sea off Vlieland Island while on a maritime patrol flight. All five crew members were killed.

The aircraft left RAF Warboys at 1807LT on a bombing mission over Wilhelmshaven. While approaching the Dutch coast by night, the aircraft crashed into the North Sea about 15 km off the Vlieland Island. No trace of the aircraft nor the crew was found.

The airplane departed RAF Waddington at 1927LT on a mine laying operation. While returning to base in the late evening, it was shot down by a German fighter and crashed into the sea off Vlieland Island. All four crew members were killed.
