Manado

While approaching Manado-Sam Ratulangi Airport, the crew encountered marginal weather conditions and failed to realize his altitude was insufficient when the aircraft struck the slope of Mt Takawirang located few km from the airport. The aircraft was destroyed upon impact and all 13 occupants were killed.

While cruising in bad weather conditions, the airplane struck the slope of a mountain and was destroyed. All 10 crew members were killed.

The crew was engaged in a maritime patrol flight with three other similar airplanes. While approaching the coast of Manado at a height of 12,000 feet, the twin engine airplane was shot down by the pilot of a Japanese fighter. Out of control, it crashed into the sea off Manado. All four crew members were killed.
