Circumstances:
The airplane departed Gilze-Rijen AFB on an operation to England. At night, it was shot down by the pilot of a Beaufighter and crashed near Carrington. All three crew bailed out but one of them was killed. Both others became PoW.

The airplane departed RAF Topcliffe at 1904LT on an operation to Brest. While returning in the evening, it iced up and crashed at 2240LT while making a second circuit to RAF Waddington. On approach at a height of 300 feet, the bomber stalled and crashed, bursting into flames. Four crew members were killed and a fifth was seriously injured.

The crew (one instructor and three student pilots) were on a routine training mission from RAF Honington. On final approach to RAF Waddington, the twin engine aircraft went out of control and crashed in a field short of runway. All four crew members were injured and the airplane was damaged beyond repair.
