Circumstances:
The airplane departed RAF Linton-on-Ouse at 1835LT on February 11 on an operation to Bremen. While returning to base the following night, it ran out of fuel and was abandoned by the crew over Scotland. It crashed in Wishaw, southeast of Glasgow, and was destroyed. All five crew members were uninjured.

The pilot departed RAF Leuchars on a solo training flight. En route, he encountered an unexpected situation and was forced to attempt an emergency landing. The single engine aircraft crash landed near Newbigging, northeast of Dundee, Scotland. The pilot was unhurt.

Circumstances:
The crew was performing a SAR mission after a De Havilland DH.90 Dragonfly owned by the Daily Express newspaper was missing since a day. In limited visibility due to low clouds, the aircraft impacted the top of a hill, slid for few dozen metres and came to a halt near Leadhills. The aircraft was damaged beyond repair and all four crew members from the 269th Squadron were able to walk away to the nearest village to find help.

Controlled flight into terrain.
