Circumstances:
The airplane departed Amsterdam-Schiphol Airport on an operation to England. Approaching the British coast, it was shot down by a Beaufighter and crashed into the sea off Blyth. All four crew members were killed.

Circumstances:
The crew was performing a maritime patrol flight off the British coast when both engines failed in flight. The pilot attempted to ditch the aircraft some 10 km off Blyth. The aircraft sank after 45 minutes and all four crewmen were rescued by the crew of a minesweeper.

Circumstances:
The crew was completing a private flight out from Cramlington Airport. En route, the engine failed, forcing the pilot to attempt an emergency landing in an open field located in Blyth. The aircraft named 'Novacastria' was damaged beyond repair and both occupants were injured.
Probable cause:
Water in the fuel system was found to be a contributory factor to the engine stopping.
