While cruising along the coast, the crew was forced to ditch the airplane due to a fuel exhaustion. The aircraft landed off Cullen and was lost while both crew members were rescued.

Circumstances:
The crew was completing a local training exercice out from RAF Lossiemouth. While making a right turn in the vicinity of the airfield, the airplane stalled and crashed. Both crew members were killed.
