Circumstances:
The airplane departed RAF Honington at 2304LT on a Gerdening operation. While passing over the area of Nakskov at a height of about 60 metres, the airplane was shot down by ground fire and ditched into the sea off Nakskov. The air gunner was killed while four other occupants were rescued and became PoW.
