Takeoff (climb)

The airplane departed Lukhovitsy-Tretyakovo Airport at 1452LT on a ferry flight to Moscow-Vnukovo Airport, carrying a crew of three. About eight minutes after takeoff, it entered an uncontrolled descent and crashed in an almost vertical attitude in a dense wooded area located near the village of Bokovo-Akulovo, some 37 km northwest of Tretyakovo Airport. The airplane disintegrated on impact and all three crew members were killed. The airplane was ferried back to Moscow following a maintenance program at Tretyakovo Airport.

The pilot, sole on board, was completing a local post maintenance test flight out from Aguadilla-Rafael Hernández Airport. After takeoff, the twin engine airplane climbed to an altitude of about 1,600 feet when the pilot encountered an unexpected situation and elected to return. Following a 180 turn, the airplane entered an uncontrolled descent and crashed in a residential area located near the airport, bursting into flames. The airplane was destroyed and the pilot was killed.

Shortly after takeoff from McKinney Airport, while in initial climb, the twin engine airplane entered an uncontrolled descent and crashed inverted in a quarry, bursting into flames. Two people were killed and a third occupant was seriously injured. It is believed that the pilot encountered engine problems shortly after departure.

The pilot departed runway 19 at Albany International Airport on a ferry flight to Montreal. After takeoff, while climbing, the pilot informed ATC about engine trouble and was able to climb to an altitude of about 800 feet when the airplane entered a left descending turn. It later gained a little altitude then entered an uncontrolled descent and crashed in a residential area, bursting into flames. The airplane was destroyed and the pilot, sole on board, was killed. The airplane was en route to Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport.

Shortly after takeoff from Chino Airport runway 21, while climbing, the twin engine airplane rolled to the left, descended to the ground and crashed in a grassy area, bursting into flames. Both occupants were fatally injured. The airplane was operated on behalf of the Yanks Air Museum.

After takeoff from Sorriso-Aero Agro Airfield, the pilot encountered an unexpected situation and apparently elected to return to the airport. The airplane entered an uncontrolled descent in a right turn then crashed in a dense wooded area located southeast of the city of Sorriso, bursting into flames. The airplane was totally destroyed and both occupants were killed.

While taking off from runway 32 at Buckingham Airport, the twin engine airplane went out of control, veered off runway to the left, lost its nose gear and left main gear and came to rest. Both crew members evacuated safely.

While on a night take off from runway 01 at Dakar-Blaise Diagne Airport, the crew encountered hydraulic problems and decided to reject the takeoff procedure. Unable to stop within the remaining distance, the airplane overran, rolled into soft ground and came to rest. A fire broke out on the right side of the airplane and was quickly extinguished. All 85 occupants were evacuated, among them 10 were injured. The airplane was supposed to fly to Bamako on behalf of Air Sénégal.

During the takeoff roll on runway 31 at Mohéli-Bandar es Eslam Airport, while at high speed, the crew decided to reject the takeoff procedure and initiated an emergency braking process. Unable to stop on the remaining distance, the airplane overran, contacted bushes and trees, lost its right main gear and came to rest in a wooded area. All 52 occupants were rescued, among them several were injured, some seriously.

After takeoff from runway 20R at Fairbanks Airport, the airplane climbed to the altitude of about 1,700 feet when it rolled to the left. It entered an uncontrolled descent until it crashed in a huge explosion on the south bank of the Tanana River. The airplane was destroyed by impact forces and a post crash fire and both crew members were killed. The accident occurred about six minutes after takeoff, apparently following the explosion of one of both left engines.
