The airplane departed RAF Honington at 2005LT on October 14 on an operation to Magdeburg. While cruising at night, it was shot down by the pilot of a Me.110 and crashed in Salzwedel, about 85 km northwest of Magdeburg. All six crew members were killed.

Circumstances:
The pilot, sole on board, was completing a ferry flight from Chester to RAF Llandow. On final approach, the airplane struck a telephone pole and crashed in a nearby field located in Llysworney, less than two km north of the airfield. The pilot F/O Luis Goncelvis Fontes was killed.

During the takeoff roll at RAF Stradishall, the airplane went out of control. It swerved on runway, veered off to the right and eventually collided with a hangar, bursting into flames. Four crew members were killed and two others were injured.

While flying over the North Sea, the aircraft was badly shout about by an enemy night-fighter and the captain decided to fly back and to divert to RAF Honington. After touchdown, the aircraft went out of control and crashed, bursting into flames. All six crew members were uninjured and the aircraft was destroyed.
