Vickers 416 Wellington IC

The airplane was on a transfer flight from Kirkbride to RAF Lossiemouth. In unknown circumstances, it crashed near Lochwinnoch, in the Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park. The pilot was killed.

The airplane departed RAF East Wretham at 1750LT on an operation to Wilhelmshaven. The crew reported technical problems then the airplane was lost without trace, maybe after it crashed somewhere in the North Sea. All six crew members were killed.

The airplane departed RAF Honington at 1739LT on an operation to Torino. While returning to base in the late evening, the aircraft was overflying the unoccupied east part of France when the crew encountered technical problems. The captain reduced his altitude and attempted an emergency landing in a snow covered field located in Mizérieux. The aircraft was partially destroyed by a post crash fire and all six crew members were uninjured.

The airplane departed RAF Feltwell at 1130LT on a test flight to RAF Bassingbourn. About 15 minutes into the flight, it went out of control and crashed at Heath Farm near Stapleford, southeast of Cambridge. A crew was seriously injured and five others were killed.
