Circumstances:
The aircraft was owned by M. A. Scott and piloted by C. C. Waite who was taking part to an airshow in Waihou, southwest of Te Aroha, Waikato. While performing a demonstration flight, the single engine aircraft collided with a Desoutter registered ZK-ACJ. Following the collision, the Moth dove into the ground and crashed, killing the pilot. The pilot of the Desoutter was able to land without further problem. The exact circumstances of the collision remains unclear.

En route from Dunedin to Wellington, the pilot encountered thick fog and drizzle. The airplane went out of control and crashed in a field located in Saint Andrews, 10 miles south of Timaru, coming to rest upside down. The pilot F. C. Taylor was injured while the passenger Howard Bailey was killed. He was on his way to Wellington to take part to a Grand Lodge communication.

Binley, Chief Flying Instructor of The Bombay Flying Club was killed while the student pilot C. W. Ring was injured.

While making aerobatics manoeuvres, the crew lost control of the aircraft that dove into the ground and crashed in an open field located in Chilwell, southwest of Nottingham. Both pilots Philip S. Rook and Alan C. Grant-Dalton were killed.
Probable cause:
Control was lost after a wing failed during aerobatics.

Both men had taken off from Broxbourne in good weather conditions and proceeded northwest across England. As they reached the Pennines they reported encountering thick mist and a strong head wind (up to 60 km/h). The aircraft became difficult to control so the pilot decided to turn back and potentially forced land the aircraft. Before dropping clear of the low cloud, the aircraft struck rising ground on Burbage Edge. The aircraft turned over trapping the pair for about half an hour before they both managed to escape the wreck and walked to an AA box near the Cat & Fiddle public house.

While cruising at high speed, the airplane impacted the slope of Mt Pouakai located northwest of Mt Taranaki, in the Egmont National Park. The aircraft disintegrated on impact and both occupants, pilot Stanley William Green and the photographer James Alexander Austin were killed.
