Circumstances:
The airplane departed Sumburgh Airport on a raid over Bergen. Approaching the Norwegian Coast, it was shot down by the pilot of a German fighter and crashed into the sea some 50 km west of Bergen. A crew member was killed and two others were rescued.

The crew was completing a local training flight at Ambala AFB. During the takeoff roll, a tyre burst. The pilot-in-command lost control of the airplane that veered off runway, lost its undercarriage and came to rest. All three crew members evacuated safely and the aircraft was damaged beyond repair.

Loss of control during takeoff after a tyre burst.
