Circumstances:
The airplane departed RAF Hemswell at 2255LT on May 3 on an operation to Hamburg. Approaching the German coast, it was shot down by the German Flak and crashed into the sea off Kaiser-Wilhelm-Koog. Five crew members were killed and a sixth became PoW.
