The pilot was completing a local training flight at RAF Waddington. On approach, the airplane crashed some 3 km from the airbase, near Branston. The pilot was uninjured and the aircraft was damaged beyond repair.

Circumstances:
The airplane crashed upon landing at RAF Waddington following a ferry flight, bursting into flames. The Hampden had recently undergone repairs and it is believed that the elevator controls were wrongly connected. The pilot evacuated safely and the aircraft was destroyed.

The crew was performing a training flight from RAF Cranwell to RAF Welbourn. Following a wrong approach configuration, the aircraft landed too far down the runway. After touchdown, it was unable to stop within the remaining distance, overran, hit a hedge and came to rest. Both pilots were unhurt while the aircraft was damaged beyond repair.
