Shortly after takeoff from York Airport, one of the engine failed. The pilot attempted an emergency landing when the aircraft crash landed in a field and came to rest, bursting into flames. All six occupants were injured.

During the takeoff roll, several tires burst. Despite the situation, the captain decided to continue the takeoff procedure and completed the rotation shortly later. During initial climb, the crew realized that the aircraft was on fire. Immediately, the captain reduced his altitude and attempted an emergency landing. The twin engine aircraft crash landed and slid on its belly for several yards before coming to rest in flames. All eight occupants were slightly injured while the aircraft was destroyed by fire.
Probable cause:
Tire burst on takeoff.

After takeoff from London-Heathrow Airport, while climbing to a height of some 30-50 feet, the seaplane banked left to an angle of 40° and then lost height and hit the ground some 150 yards to the left of the runway. The aircraft continued for some 450 yards before coming to rest in flames. A crew member was seriously injured while six other occupants were killed.
