Circumstances:
Following an uneventful mission, the crew was returning to his base in the UK. En route, a fuel exhaustion forced all 10 crew members to abandon the aircraft and to bail out. While the aircraft crashed in a field and was destroyed, all 10 occupants were unhurt.
Probable cause:
Fuel exhaustion.

Circumstances:
The crew was engaged in a training exercise out from RAF Upwood. The right engine failed in flight, forcing the crew to attempt an emergency landing. The airplane crash landed in an open field located about 5 km west of Whittlesey. Both crew members were uninjured.

Circumstances:
At dusk, the crew was returning to his base at RAF Upwood but became lost. The pilot attempted an emergency landing in Whittlesey, about 13 km north of the airbase. After landing, the aircraft hit a dyke and came to rest upside down. Both crew members were injured.
