Circumstances:
While completing a night training exercise, the airplane crashed at 2038LT at a place known as Cluther Rocks on Kinder Scout in the Derbyshire Peak District, following an attempt to lands at Manchester-Ringway Airport. Weather conditions were extremely poor at the time of the accident. All four crew members were killed.

At night and in low visibility due to clouds, the airplane impacted the slope of a hilly terrain in Dalefoot, near West Burton. Three crew members were killed and the pilot was injured.

With the starboard engine on fire, the crew evacuated the area bound for Sweden. Eventually, the crew bailed out and abandoned the airplane that crashed in Hostrup, south Denmark. All four crew members became PoW.

The crew attempted an emergency landing when the airplane crashed one mile west of Brampton. Two crew members were killed and two others were seriously injured. Two days later, one of the survivor died from injuries sustained.
