Following a wrong approach configuration, the twin engine aircraft landed too far down the runway and was unable to stop within the remaining distance. It overran and collided with a hedge before coming to rest. Both pilots escaped uninjured.

The pilot was performing his first solo flight at RAF Little Rissington. After several circuits in the vicinity of the airbase, he initiated the return when, on final approach, he lost control of the aircraft that crashed in a huge ball of fire. The sole occupant was killed.

Loss of control for undetermined reason.

Circumstances:
The crew was engaged in a coastal patrol mission our from RAF Detling. While flying along the Kent coast in poor weather conditions, one of the engine failed. The crew elected to return to RAF Detling but control was lost. One of the crew member was able to bail out and survived while three other crew members were killed after the aircraft crashed in a pasture located near Benenden.
